Position: Viola, Tenure-Track, Senior Rank

Description: The Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a senior, tenure-track faculty position in viola. The successful candidate will have an extensive background as a performer and teacher, will be able to work effectively with faculty colleagues, and will be able to inspire very gifted students in highly competitive and professionally-oriented education environment.

Responsibilities: Teach viola in all degree and diploma programs, including freshmen through doctoral levels; may teach chamber music and orchestral studies if mutually agreeable. Participation in department service and recruitment activities, and school-wide committees, is expected.

Qualifications: Extensive performing and teaching experience at the very highest levels of the profession. Advanced degrees preferred; equivalent professional experience will be given equal consideration.

Salary & Rank: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. The committee may recommend appointment at the level of associate or full professor.
