07 Jun 2022 AVS Competitions – Winners Announced!
Congratulations to our AVS 2022 Festival & Congress Competition winners! The final competition rounds were completed in person on June 1, 2022 at Schwob School of Music, Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. The level of playing was extremely high and the judges were very impressed with everyone’s playing.
In the Junior Solo Competition, First Place was awarded to Colin Breshears, a student of Madeline Prager. Second Place went to Grace Yu, a student of Joyce Grabell, and Third Place went to Emily Jeong, a student of Kathryn Steely.
In the Senior Solo Competition, First Place was awarded to Janice Leung, a student of Carol Rodland. Second Place went to Aubrey Williamson, a student of Sara Driver, and Third Place went to Grace Leonard, a student of Renee Skerik.
In the Collegiate Solo Competition, First Place was awarded to Carlos Walker, a student of Victoria Chiang and Rebecca Albers. Second Place went to Katie Baird, a student of Molly Gebrian, and Third Place went to Olivia Puntenney, a student of Karen Ritscher.
In the Orchestral Audition Competition, First Place was awarded to Joseph Henderson, a student of DJ Cheek and Renate Falkner. Second Place went to Jessica Ingersoll, a student of Robert Vernon and Lembi Veskimets, and Third Place went to Ragnhild Cover, a student of Katrin Meidell.
