AVS Seeking a Vendor Relations Coordinator

The American Viola Society is a nonprofit organization of viola enthusiasts, including students, performers, teachers, scholars, composers, makers, and friends, who seek to encourage excellence in performance, pedagogy, research, composition, and lutherie. United in our commitment to promote the viola and its related activities, the AVS fosters communication and friendship among violists of all skill levels, ages, nationalities, and backgrounds.

The American Viola Society (AVS) announces an opportunity for the position of Vendor Relations Coordinator. The VRC will work with the AVS Board to build and maintain relationships with sponsors across our varied activities, including the AVS Festival, Journal of the American Viola Society, and various competitions. The position is a two-year renewable contract that a successful candidate could grow into a more substantial role in the organization. This position entails cultivating and maintaining relationships with current and potential AVS vendors; coordinating sponsorship efforts across all activities, including print and website advertisements, conference vendors, and event sponsorships; developing comprehensive sponsorship packages, including pricing rates.

Desired qualifications include previous sales and cold-calling experience; ability to write and communicate professionally by phone and email; ability to envision, develop and scale sponsorships long-term with vendors.

Starting compensation is an annual stipend of $1500, plus up to $500/month in commissions. Commission rate is 10% of sales. The position will be open until filled. Applicant to start at earliest availability.
