31 Oct Announcing the AVS Education Fund Matching Grant!
Deepening our commitment to viola education, the AVS is proud to announce the newly-established AVS Education Endowment Fund. Proceeds from this fund will support viola educators and education initiatives through AVS Educator Mini-Grants, student scholarships to attend AVS Festivals and International Viola Congresses, and future projects in development.
The AVS Educator Mini-Grant Program launched in 2023 and has already completed two successful cycles, delivering $5000 in direct support to viola educators in support of professional development, student enrichment events, innovative technology for pedagogical use, and much more. We hope to grow this project in the future to serve even more viola teachers and students.
Thanks to a generous gift of $3500 from an anonymous donor, we are launching a matching campaign to double these funds! Our goal is to complete this $3500 match – yielding $7000 toward viola education – by the end of 2024, with an eventual goal of fully endowing this fund.
