The American Viola Society is excited to announce that the 2024 Dalton Research Competition is now available and accepting submissions from students and recent graduates. The David Dalton Research Competition awards cash prizes for original scholarly research, as well as the opportunity for winning papers to be published in a peer-reviewed journal.
Additionally, the new Dalton Harmony Prize, in the amount of $500, is available to a scholar for research focusing on non-canonic, underrepresented, and underserved composers, their music, and/or performers and pedagogy and will not disqualify the prize winner’s eligibility for the Dalton Research Competition first, second, or third prizes.
Submissions are accepted until June 1, 2024.
