Join us on Gibbs Street for six days of intensive and comprehensive exploration into fundamental viola techniques and musical interpretation skills! Our approach is comprehensive and process-oriented and takes place within a supportive group setting. Together we will explore strategies that promote a healthy approach to building proficiency and work to solidify our musical voice in performance.
Designed as an “advanced basics” course featuring master classes, group lessons, private lessons, and voice and movement classes, this workshop is suitable for advanced high school students, conservatory musicians and the seasoned professional. All violists will leave this workshop with greater insight and confidence towards the goals of instrumental mastery and open musical expression. Participants are asked to bring two pieces to prepare and perform during the workshop.
