28 Feb AVS Record Label – First Album Performers and Repertoire Announced
The American Viola Society is excited to announce the creation of a recording label. This label will be a vehicle for AVS members to present and produce professional recordings sponsored by the AVS.
In June of 2021, we announced a call for submissions to participate in our inaugural album of works for solo viola and works for viola and piano that draw from repertoire by underrepresented composers. The AVS Underrepresented Composer Database serves as a resource for researching these works. We anticipate releasing this first album in January of 2023. We plan to announce another call in Summer of 2022.
We received many high quality submissions in our first call. The selected performers and repertoire for the album are listed below.
